



The Academy of Prenatal Medicine was founded with the mission to elevate the level of obstetrics and gynecology in Bulgaria by introducing innovations and sharing international expertise.
It offers a unique platform for the advancement of knowledge and practical training for specialists in the field of fetal medicine. Through lectures, hands-on sessions, and access to the latest technologies, the Academy aims to support the development of professionals and improve the care for expectant mothers and their babies.
From February 21 to 23, 2025, the II Academy of Prenatal Medicine took place at the Medical Simulation Training Center, organized by the Center for Maternal-Fetal Medicine and the Medical University – Plovdiv. Led by Dr. Boris Stoilov, MD, and under the aegis of Prof. Dr. Ekaterina Uchikova, the event brought together leading national and international experts for an in-depth exploration of key aspects of third-trimester pregnancy.
The Academy’s program included lectures by distinguished professionals such as Prof. Kypros Nicolaides, Prof. Tsvetomir Lukanov, Prof. Dr. Penka Stefanova, Prof. Yuriy Anastasov, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Stefan Kostadinov, Dr. Rumen Velev, and others, along with practical sessions featuring the most advanced ultrasound technology. Topics covered included the diagnosis and management of complications such as preeclampsia, fetal growth restriction, and placental pathology, with a focus on improving care for mothers and their children.
The II Academy of Prenatal Medicine reaffirmed its role as a leading platform for professional development, building upon the success of its first edition and contributing to the implementation of global standards in prenatal diagnostics and care.
Hands-on training was a key component of the II Academy of Prenatal Medicine, providing participants with realistic clinical experience through live volunteer patients and work with high-end ultrasound equipment.
These practical sessions gave participants the opportunity to acquire expert skills essential for modern prenatal medicine.

Certificates and Professional Recognition
All participants received a certificate issued by the Medical University – Plovdiv, validating their training and contribution to the development of prenatal diagnostics. In addition, OB-GYNs received credit points from the Bulgarian Medical Association (BMA), supporting their professional qualifications.
